Our vision

EDUCATION FOR A BRIGHT FUTURE

WAFA has a well structured football system aimed at empowering talented African youths ages 13 to 20 through a combination of professional guidance and comprehensive education. We believe in nurturing not only football skills but also personal and academic growth. Hundreds of football players from Africa took their first steps at WAFA on their way to football clubs all over the world. By instilling values such as discipline, teamwork, and resilience, we prepare our young talents for success both on and off the field.

Lawrence Agyekum

In February 2022 Lawrence went from WAFA to Red Bull Salzburg. At that time WAFA and Red Bull Salzburg had a partnership. Lawrence played mainly for FC Liefering. Although FC Liefering is an independent association, it does act as the promising team of Red Bull Salzburg. It therefore plays in the same uniforms. In July 2024 Lawrence went on loan to Cercle Brugge in Belgium. Cercle Brugge has an option to buy and Lawrence became a starter. On 21-3-2025 Lawrence made his debut for the Black Stars in a World Cup qualification match against Chad. At the end of the season Cercle Brugge bought Lawrence from Red Bull Salzburg.
